Drive Pheasant and Partridge Shooting - Deene Park, Northamptonshire, England
Two hours drive from London and conveniently situated 10 miles west of the A1 (trunk road and motorway) Deenee Park provides a unique setting for a shoot.

Helicopter landing is easily arranged close to the house or on the private airfield, which includes a 2000 yard
runway and forms part of the estate. The house has evolved from its medieval origins through generations
of the Brudenell family who moved to Deenee in 1514.

The earlier parts of the house are built around a courtyard through which the visitor enters the Great Hall of 1571. It is in this hall that pre-dinner drinks or afternoon tea are taken by visiting parties, when they have the opportunity to admire the elaborate sweet chestnut hammerbeam roof and family portraits. A
contemporary Elizabethan refectory table and bench are significant items of furniture providing a emarkable complement to this magnificent room. One of the best known of the Brudenell ancestors is James Brudenell,
7th Earl of Cardigan, who led the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimean war in 1854.

Several pictures and artifacts celebrate the famous Earl including a stirring portrait of him on his charger, Ronald, that hangs over the fireplace in the main dining room.
Each bedroom has its own character and several boast four-poster beds. King Henry VII’s room has an Elizabethan four-poster bed and the panelled walls are hung with seals of the British monarchs from Henry VI to Elizabeth I. All bedrooms have private bathrooms and a party of up to 20 guests can be accommodated. Guests are catered for by Mr. and Mrs Brudenell's butler, housekeeper, cook and maids and the Brudenell's will normally host a party when they are in residence.

Shooting is available on the estate and up to two days of driven pheasant and partridge shooting are possible for bags of between 200 and 350 birds per day. Occasionally goose shooting is also be available. The
terrain makes for interesting shooting and all drives are within two miles of the house. For parties requiring a longer programme, arrangements can be made with other estates in the locality.

Lunch is provided in a purpose-built room in the head gamekeeper’s house, where delicious food is brought from the big house and served in comfortable surroundings. Excursions are sometimes arranged for non-shooting guests to the nearby historic market towns of Stamford, Oundle and Uppingham for lunch or to visit their antique shops.
